5 Productivity Blogging Tools That I Wouldn’t Go Without

blogging productivity toolsRight Tools = Leverage = Increased Productivity

Being a successful blogger involves a lot of work as you are certainly well aware. There are many steps that are involved with preparing for a post, writing it, promoting it and engaging with the readers. That’s not even mentioning the other aspects involved with the general runnings of a blog!

Being productive with our time is essential which is one reason that Jym addresses the topic of blogging productivity each week! We can’t afford to lose sight of productivity or we will find ourselves wasting valuable time that we could be spending with our families, other money making endeavours, personal development, and so much more.

Finding the right tools to help us save time and money is of the essence! I’m here to share with you five tools that I use for blogging and that I would not want to be without.

Plugins for Blogging Productivity

I’ll start with the obvious productivity tools of the blogger. There are plugins for just about every aspect of blogging, aside from actually writing the posts for you! I’ll list a few of the must haves that I use that are less popular and not on every other plugin list that we all see.

  • Photo Dropper is a very efficient plugin for finding photos to put in your posts. It searches the creative common photos within your dashboard. Once you select the one you want it is placed in your post, with the proper credits! This plugin has saved me a lot of time!
  • Viper’s Video Quicktags is extremely useful for posting videos from youtube and other similar sites. Just insert the url and the video is ready for your post!
  • WordPress Thread Comment not only enables threaded commenting but it also allows you the option to have your comment emailed to the person that you are replying to. It’s a great way to bring people back to your blog and helps to feel like you’re actually engaging in conversation since you know they will see your reply.

More Online Productivity Tools…

Google Bookmarks – Save all of your bookmarks in one place on the web. If you’ve ever lost a list of bookmarks due to computer error you know how handy that can be. More than once I have lost many of my bookmarks when I’ve updated my browser, I’m so glad that a friend told me about google bookmarks.

The toolbar is really useful too! As long as you are logged into your google account you can easily add any site to your bookmarks.

I create all kinds of folders for my various blogging needs. One trick that can save a little time is to save no more than about seven places that you promote your posts into one folder. Then when you are ready to promote a post you go to that folder from the toolbar, click “open all in tabs” and you don’ t have to go to each one individually (though if your computer is slow or crashes easily, I don’t recommend this method!)

SocialMonkee – You can get 25 dofollow backlinks a day for free with SocialMonkee when you sign up. You can upgrade for a fee or you can refer 12 people and upgrade for free. When your account is upgraded you can get 100 free backlinks three times a day! I found that it wasn’t all that difficult to get the 12 referrals, in fact my account shows that I’ve got 17 as of now. You can also pay a fee to have 150 backlinks three times a day.

Note from Jym: I love this tool – Check out my review of SocialMonkee

TwitterFeed – This site is a great tool for twitter and facebook! You can set it up to tweet and share your content, even on multiple accounts from your one twitterfeed account. You can also set it up to share anyone else’s content as well. If you have mulitple blogs you can share them all or if you have some friends who like to exchange tweets and shares you can use twitterfeed for that too. It’s all automated, you don’t have to think about it again once it’s set up!

You can also set it up so that all of your tweets have the same thing at the beginning or end, for example you could say, “Check out my latest and great post!” or you can insert a RT to show that you are retweeting your friend’s content.

Swagbucks I love Swagbucks so much because it’s not only a great search engine but because they pay you to search the web! Since I’ve joined I’ve earned about $50 in Amazon gift cards. Though you can get any kind of gift card, it doesn’t have to be Amazon. I just love to read! You might enjoy earning swagbucks so that you could get some free coffee or paypal spending money! What could be more productive than that?

Swagbucks also has a toolbar that you can search from directly without going to their site, you can earn swagbucks by playing games, participating in polls, finding swagcodes, and many other ways. Though since we are discussing productivity searching the web is the most productive way to earn swagbucks.

Please help us by sharing this post, and let more people know about these great free productivity tools for bloggers. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing your favorite tools Stacy :D

I think not only bloggers but also all Internet marketers could benefit from these tools as we all have the same task is to create and market our content.

Just wanted to point out: I read somewhere Google is going to shut Google Bookmarks down now – along with several other Google services such as Knol, Wave, etc. You may wanna try some alternative to it (and be sure to let us know which one you recommend!)

I also love(d) Google Bookmarks, actually. I just find it much simpler and more convenient to use, compared to most social bookmarking sites. Oh well.

    • Hi Jack,

I heard about Google’s upcoming changes too. But the good news is that I found a very similar site called Diigo (diigo.com) so we can keep bookmarking our favorite sites online. Now, it’s just a matter of moving them from google to diigo before Google gets rid of it on Dec. 19.

Socialmonkee is really good. I’ve a premium account there and so i can get 300 backlinks in a day! Sounds really good but actually not that good :P

well, the problem is that the links are not so strong. An dalso the value from those link seems to lose their value in a couple of months. May be it because of lack of consistent link building technique :(

Anyways, is there any other free ONLINE tool like socialmonkee?
