CommentLuv Premium ‘Unleashed’
CommentLuv Premium has just been launched, and it’s making some major waves amongst the ‘serious’ blogging community.
New plugins are being released and old ones upgraded all the time, so why the all fuss about ComLuv+? For a full overview, check out the CommentLuv Premium Review I published last week.
This post is a simple tutorial highlighting one particular element of CommentLuv Premium, which is it’s incredible ability to direct ‘link juice’ to the critical pages on your site with more ease and power than ever before…
CommentLuv Premium: Evolution
There’s a fair chance you’re already using the free version CommentLuv on your blog already (if not, that’s a great place to start – read my Free CommentLuv Review for more). Almost 15,000 blogs are, and in its many forms, it’s been downloaded over 400,000 times.
The free version of CommentLuv allowed you to add a link to one of your 5 most recent posts, every time you left a Comment on a CommentLuv enabled blog. Very cool.
Those blogs which also had ‘KeywordLuv’ enabled gave that link ‘dofollow’ status meaning that link juice got passed through to the target post of the link. Even cooler.

Great way to build backlinks to your important posts, giving them a boost in the search rankings as well as pulling in traffic via your (no doubt) entertaining, witty, insightful and intelligent comments.
But there was a problem. You could only access your most recent posts, and on some blogs, only your single most recent post.
You couldn’t add a link to your opt-in page, squeeze page, or older posts which you wanted to generate traffic for and push up the search rankings…
What’s Page Rank, and Why ‘Sculpt’ it?
Page Rank is an assignment of value given by Google as an indicator of authority for a web page. It’s not the only factor in successful rankings (by any means) but the fact remins that higher page rank supports higher positioning in the search results which (of course) means more traffic for your blog.
Building upon that, Being able to rank your inner pages in the search engines (not just the root domain of your blog or website) means that you can infuse extra ranking potential and power into your most important pages and posts.
Now here’s a thing. There’s more to this than just being able to rank a few of your inner pages or posts well.
If you have a number of posts within your own blog which have a healthy PR, then that in turn enables you to feed that PR value on to other posts or pages within your blog.
Manipulate the flow of link juice via intralinking (linking from within your posts to other posts on your blog or website), sidebar or footer links (less valuable but still valid) or – here it is again – CommentLuv links from your comments on your own blog.
Obviously this is all built up over time, but what’s important here is that you can control it far more than ever before, literally telling Google which pages are the important ones on your blog, instead of being totally at the mercy of off site linking factors which are never truly under your control.

Where CommentLuv Premium comes in
If you have CommentLuv Premium installed on your blog (it’s a one time payment for installation on as many of your own sites as you like) you automatically get to choose from the 10 most recent posts, every time you comment on a CommentLuv enabled blog (no matter what CommentLuv settings that blog owner has in place)
But that’s not all.
Oh no.
That is not all! (I love the Cat in the Hat, don’t you?)
In your CommentLuv Dashboard, you can add up to 5 pages and/or posts from your blog, making them available to you to leave as links every time you comment on a CommentLuv blog.
So you can continue to promote your key pages. Forever.
Whether you’re commenting on your own blog, or one of the many other CommentLuv blogs, if you have CommentLuv Premium, you can use this feature to direct traffic and link juice wherever you like on your site.
How to Sculpt Page Rank with CommentLuv Premium
CommentLuv Premium has a very simple to use and comprehensive dashboard. Each section of the plugin has it’s own control panel where you can set things up to do exactly what you want. For our purposes here, we’re just going to be looking at the CommentLuv control panel.
First, make sure that CommentLuv is activated and enabled for admin.
Next Enable dofollow links for registered or logged in users (that’s you!). If you don’t do this, no link juice gets passed along the CommentLuv links on your comments within your own blog. It’s as simple as ticking the box:
Now add up to 5 ‘Favorite posts’ (or pages) from your blog which you want to be able to link to. The panel where you add them looks like this:
When you’ve done those, save the new settings, and you’re all set to comment on your own and other blogs.
This screenshot shows the kind of link options you’ll have once you’ve followed step 3 above. Note that this image was captured from another blog which doesn’t have CommentLuv Premium enabled at this time, but it doesn’t matter. You have the full choice of posts if CommentLuv is installed on your own blog.
As you can see, there’s far more choice of which link I want to leave here, including two of my pages. That makes it very easy for you to apply deep links to your old posts or blog pages from any CommentLuv enabled blog – including your own.
Now simply implement a consistent strategic blog commenting plan, and you’ll be able to guide and sculpt your internal page ranking to exactly where you want it to be.

Install CommentLuv Premium (or CommentLuv if you don’t have a budget)
Then activate it. Because it gives links to visiting commentators, you will get more people coming back.
Also, make use of CommentLuv on other people’s blogs by leaving your link (as you have on your last comment). Make sure your headlines are catchy to attract traffic through those links!
What I’ve described in this post is part of an ongoing SEO plan, in which CommentLuv Premium can help you to build authority in the eyes of Google, towards the pages you want to receive search traffic in your blog.

A major benefit of the premium version is that it changes the options you have when you comment on other sites, as well as your own.
As described above, it allows you to control deep linking to specific posts and pages. That’s what enables page rank sculpting, and pushes whichever posts you want further up the search engines to receive more traffic.

I’m a great advocate of using the free version of tools and plugins where they do an adequate job.
The free version of CommentLuv is a wonderful thing, but it doesn’t compare to the Premium version. CL+ is so wildly powerful for the reasons you highlighted and more, that I consider it on of a very few Premium tools which are ‘must haves’

I heard of the many features of the premium version of commentluv but have not really read much this little tricks built in. But I think there is something you mentioned there that needs clarification. You said, “The free version of CommentLuv allowed you to add a link to one of your 5 most recent posts, every time you left a Comment on a CommentLuv enabled blog.”
Now, I’m using the free version but except where the blogger has decided to limit the number of posts I can add, I’ve always have access to my 10 last posts. Even on my blog any one can have that access since that is what I chose as the settings. Don’t you think, 5 posts as mentioned by you is not correct?

Actually there’s been a few ‘incarnations’ of CommentLuv, and the number of posts available has grown and become more adjustable from blog to blog.
Some bloggers give 10 posts by default, others require registration.
Either way, as a commenter or blogger, you get the most options by far with CommentLuv Premium (no surprise there!)

Thing is – Page Rank Sculpting is only one side of why CommentLuv Premium is an absolutely killer plugin.
It’s true that the free version gave us a great way to increase backlinks to our inner posts and pages. Now we can control those links even more.
Just found out that when CommentLuv premium is rereleased after this ‘pre-launch’ week (4 days or so to go), it’s going to be 80% MORE expensive.
So it’s definitely time to grab a copy!
