Guest Posting at Blogger’s Alchemy

I love the blogging community. The networking, supportive interconnection and contribution between bloggers is a wonderful thing which benefits all.

That contribution takes many forms: Blog Commenting, Social Sharing, Joint Ventures and of course – Guest Posting.

There’s been a few awesome guest posts already here at Blogger’s Alchemy, and now the doors are wide open for more.

Why Write a Guest Post Here?

  • Backlinks. The Blogger’s Alchemy homepage is currently PR3, and as a guest blogger you’re welcome to add quality anchor text links back to your sites (details below)
  • Traffic. The current Alexa rank here is around 62k. Quality posts will attract some of the traffic visiting my blog… back to yours.
  • Networking and Relationship building. Connect with the community here by opening up questions and discussion in your posts. Your Net worth equals your network – never underestimate the benefits of meeting new bloggers and marketers here (or anywhere!)
Jan 2012 UPDATE: Both PR and Alexa rank have been temporarily wiped following my domain transfer to bloggersalchemy.com. Traffic level remains the same and PR value will be returned over time

What Topics Will I Accept at Blogger’s Alchemy?

Improving and Transforming Blogs and Bloggers is the name of the game here at Blogger’s Alchemy.

Most of my readers are bloggers, or interested in becoming bloggers. All are essentially interested in improving their blog (or website) and ability to promote their business or message effectively, with the end goal of making more money. But their niches are diverse.

The core topics covered here are:

  • Content Creation and Copywriting
  • Technical and Design Tips for Bloggers
  • Blog Traffic Generation (SEO, Social Media, etc)
  • Conversion and Monetization
  • Blog Marketing and Promotion
  • Product Creation
  • Productivity and Time Management

The best way to get an idea of what  gets published here is to have a look around, read a few posts and comment threads and see what people are talking about.

If you’ve got an idea and you’re not sure how it might fit into these categories, get in touch with me and we’ll talk.

Blogger’s Alchemy Guest Posting Guidelines

I’m not much of a stickler for rules, so I prefer to think of these as guidelines (bit like the ‘Pirate Code’ in fact…). But hopefully they’re specific enough to make it easy for you to understand what I require from guest bloggers, and what I won’t accept.

  • Quality must be high, and offer some tangible, actual value which can benefit the readers here. Posts must relate to the topics mentioned above.
  • Those for whom English is a second language are welcome to contribute, and I’ll give some leeway in that instance, but grammar and spelling should be as good as possible. I may briefly edit any major errors if I feel the need.
  • Before posting, you’ll need a Gravatar, and to fill in an author bio box with a few words about yourself. You’re welcome to put a couple of links into that to your blog, social media pages, or whatever.
  • A post which is published here must not be published anywhere else – either before or after. I don’t want any duplicate content issues, they can lead to problems with Google – devaluing links, or worse.
  • The post body may contain relevant linked resources, either on your own or other sites (including this one). Don’t cram them in though. Link littering is not a good look, and it’ll lead to your post getting rejected.
  • No affiliate review posts, or links to affiliate products. Same goes for business opportunities.
  • Every post should have an image (more than one if you like). Images must be used legally – for example via Creative Commons and attributed accordingly.
  • Minimum post length 450 words - read my article on Blog Post Length for more on this topic
  • Before you submit the post, add categories, a few tags, a meta description and short excerpt. I’ll write a quick post on how to do these, until that time – ask me if it’s not clear to you.
  • I’ll promote and share your post through my own networks. I request that you promote it too (via social media, bookmarking, a blog post, email broadcast etc).
  • I respond to almost all the comments on my blog posts. When your post is published, I’d ask that you respond to all the comments too. It’s a great opportunity to engage and connect with some new people, not to mention you can use the CommentLuv links to build more links out to posts on your own blog. You’ll receive emails to let you know when comments have been left.
  • Sometimes I may make minor adjustments to the post before publishing – mostly formatting (to maintain visual integrity), but sometimes minor adjustments to the text or headline as well, or major grammatical errors.

Any questions? Hit me up via my contact form.
