What’s in a Hard Day’s Blogging?
All Bloggers have an opportunity to reach out and share what we know with the world.
A huge part of what blogging is about for me has always been bringing my own knowledge and experience to people in a way which helps them to get what they want.
What I never considered when I started this journey however is that other people might want to know more about what I do ‘behind the scenes’, and have a wider perspective on my own life.
The ‘Invitation’
So when (to my surprise) I got an invitation out of the blue from Emmanuel Olonade of Income Scene asking me to answer some questions for an interview post, I was delighted, honoured and didn’t really know where to start.
Emmanuel sent me his questions, and as I read them, it got me to thinking.
How can I best transmit what I’ve gained so far on this journey to the readers of this interview?
After some thought I scrapped the concepts which had begun to form in my mind and just sat down and wrote the answers that came up naturally.
Thing is, what we have to teach people in life (and we all have stuff to teach) is not necessarily what we think we have to teach.
So best just to tell the story, put it out there and let others find and take what they need.
Humanity Versus Expertise
Success in media of just about any kind requires two key ingredients.
Expertise
Humanity
The balance of the two creates a very special ‘magnetic’ quality which attracts people, business, contracts and all the rest.
This ‘dance’ of demonstrated knowledge with a real, tangible, touchable human edge is all too often missed by bloggers and marketers on and offline, but if you want to be a truly successful marketer of anything (be it product, business or message) – you’ll need to find it.
(For all you bloggers who don’t have an ‘About Me‘ Page yet – You know what to do after reading this!)
The Interview
So head on over and check out my Income Scene Interview – it won’t tell you how to improve your search rankings, get more comments, be more productive or convert your readers into subscribers (although maybe it will! – there are a few tips and principles in there)
But it will give you some insight into a day in the life of Blogger’s Alchemy, how and why I do what I do, and hopefully some inspiration and ideas based upon the lessons I’ve learned so far which will help you blog better.
When you’ve read it, leave me a comment – how do our days compare? What would you add to the lessons I’ve outlined for newbloggers? I’d love to know…

Sometimes when we are to talk about a particular topic as bloggers, we tend to conceal our “true identities”, this usually comes when we try to refine what we intend to say.

I agree David, there’s a point where refinement becomes concealment…
It’s all too easy to hide behind a ‘persona’ when we’re online, but it takes far less effort to be genuine, open and straight forward. Being ‘real’ serves us more in the long run anyway – on or offline.
Cheers!
