Be An MLM Alpha Leader…

An MLM Alpha Leader is a Network Marketer who congruently displays alpha leadership traits. These are the people who become successful, high earning top producers and leaders. Generally this is true in all areas of life in fact, but in Network Marketing, the principle of the ‘MLM Alpha’ (popularized in the brilliant ‘industry standard’ Magnetic Sponsoring course) is particularly pronounced because success in this industry is all about building up a team of people, and leading that team to build their own success.

Definition of an Alpha:

‘Alpha’ is the first letter of the Greek alphabet, and denotes the first in any sequence, order or hierachy.

An Alpha Leader is the individual in a community or group who holds the highest rank.

In the animal kingdom, as with humans up until fairly recently, the Alpha role was almost exclusively taken by the strongest, or most physically dominant male. Depending on particular species traits, they would usually have to fight other competitors to maintain their role at the top.

The Alpha would have the choice of mate (or mates), eat first, and take a leadership role in various ways. Other members of the tribe, group, or community would seek to be connected to and in favour with the Alpha – either to mate with (because he’s the best hunter and protector), or to be close to and therefore protected, and next in line to eat or choose a mate. The weaker ‘Beta’ individuals would instinctively take their place following the Alpha leader.

So hardwired into our DNA through millions of years of evolution is the understanding that in any tribe or group, there will be one Alpha leader. And that leader is to be followed, deferred to and obeyed, as well as looked up to for leadership, decision making and guidance.

The fact that this is so deeply embedded in our collective psyche means that this principle is operating subconsciously for everyone, regardless of personal beliefs or opinions.

What does ‘Alpha Leader’ mean today?

In our modern society, the role of physical prowess has been de-emphasized (in most cultures, some sub-groups still use physical prowess to determine social standing, usually young male ‘adults’). There is also some evidence to suggest that taller men are more successful in business than their shorter counterparts, most likely because it is more natural and instinctive to take on Alpha psychology and roles for a more physically dominant individual.

The term ‘Alpha’ today indicates a person (male or female) who is in a powerful or high ranking social or professional position. Examples are the head of a company, team leaders of any kind, political leaders, Hollywood actors, and those who take leadership roles within smaller social subgroups. The Alpha individual gets paid the most, commands the most respect, and takes the most responsibility for the success or failure of their particular group.

Only an MLM Alpha Leader will Succeed

An MLM Alpha Leader is someone who people want to follow, and want to team up with. Those people who’ve successfully positioned themselves as true leaders, and congruently display the confidence, leadership, strength and reliability both outwardly and inwardly.

Some are ‘natural’ Alphas, others have learned to be that way. If you don’t yet fit into the role of an Alpha, don’t worry. You can  progress from Beta to Alpha. Someone in the process of becoming an Alpha Leader could be described as a ‘pre-alpha’ – an individual who is taking action to elevate their status to Alpha Leader level.

The absolutely essential take-away point here is that if you are not already an Alpha Leader whom people respect, follow, listen to and want to be around simply because of the way you are, then you need to become one. If you want to succeed in MLM, and be a true leader, you must become an MLM Alpha Leader.
