Resources and Tools for Bloggers – Clickable Anchor Text generator

Another installment in the Resources and Tools for Bloggers series. Part one was an Alexa Review – a handy resource for tracking traffic rank and search keywords for your blog. This time we’ve got a short and sweet introduction to a very handy little online tool.

Resources and Tools for Bloggers – Anchor Text generator

Introducing: MySpace Clickable Link Generator

Blog Tools - MySpace Clickable Link GeneratorAs a blogger or online marketer, it’s possible to successfully avoid knowing any HTML code at all, and that’s clearly a good thing, for those of us don’t want to spend our time learning code. WordPress blogs conveniently allow us to add external and internal links easily without coding the HTML ourselves.

But as soon as you want to add a link in a blog comment, or your resource box for article submissions or guest posts, you’ll need to know the code. This is where MySpace Clickable Link Generator comes in.

Simply enter the anchor text (the clickable text) you require, and then the URL you want it to point towards. Then hit the ‘generate code’ button and Voilà – the HTML you need appears. Copy and Paste it in the right place, and you’re done.

The example below is of screen shots of Myspace Clickable Link Generator creating the text for the link in the last paragraph where the blue, underlined words ‘anchor text’ appear.

A Note About ‘NoFollow

As a side note – if you want to make the link a ‘nofollow’ link in order to stop valuable ‘link juice’ being passed through it, add the following piece of code after you’ve copied and pasted the HTML from MySpace Generator:

rel=”nofollow”

after the ‘<a’ and before the ‘href=…’

So the ‘no followed’ text from the example image above would read:

<a rel=”nofollow” href=”http://bloggersalchemy.com… etc

More about the MySpace Generator Tools

The MySpace Generators were developed to allow people to customize their MySpace profiles with code, and in the sidebar of the Clickable Link Generator you will find links to other MySpace Generators – from Glitter Text to Slideshows, Scrolling Text to Banner Generators.

The other Generators, well – you may find something you can use (glitter text, anyone?), but the one that seems to have genuine use for bloggers like you and I is the Clickable Link Generator.

To sum up – MySpace Clickable Link Generator is a simple, handy tool to have bookmarked for those moments when you want to add a link to somewhere. Free, simple and quick to use, it’s a useful one to have for adding links anywhere outside your blog.

Next Friday there will be another installment of Resources and Tools for Bloggers. I’d love to know about any other online tools you use, or questions you may have about MySpace Clickable Link Generator in the comments below. And don’t forget to Share this post with your social networks (thankyou!).

I’m going to have to check this out and to all of us that thought myspace was dead here is where all of it’s traffic is coming from bloggers trying to generate code for their blogs. Thanks for the tips as usual.

HTML avoiders! Great moniker. I’m in – perhaps we should start a Facebook Group Oliver?

This is a very handy wee tool for anyone who finds themselves in this category!

    Hi Jym,

I have used the My Space Anchor Text Clickable Link Generator almost ever since I have been online. By now one would expect I could write these links in my sleep but oddly enough I still use this tool quite often.

Thank you for sharing yet another valuable tool with your readers.

      lol! I’m the same Marcus.

It wouldn’t be so hard to learn that code by heart, but it’s even easier to simply open this tool up, fill in the blanks, then copy and paste the result.

      Too easy!

      Thanks for commenting mate

I’m always pleasantly surprised by the information I learn from you and all the other bloggers through this #proveit2011 challenge. I know enough html code to be slightly dangerous. This is great and just so I understand, this isn’t strickly limited to usage in myspace is it?

    • Jym says:

      Not at all Golda.

That’s it’s purpose, but the code provided is standard HTML code good to use anywhere. It just generated the code for anchor text of your choice pointed to a link of your choice.

      I don’t even have a MySpace account!

  5. Jym, you can even create banners with MySpace? That’s awesome! I will definitely have to check them out because I am not good with html at all. I can link to a picture, and sometimes, remember how to create a text link, but that’s about it.

So you’re doing a weekly series on resources for bloggers? I’ll have to check back and see what other goodies you’ve found!

The only one of the MySpace Generators I use is the Anchor Text Clickable Link Generator, but you may find other aspects useful too.

I’ll be digging up all kinds of cool tools for this series, it’s exciting!

Thanks for commenting and I look forward to sharing more online resources with you :)
